ZO 3—Step Peel is an innovative, in-office treatment peel followed by an at-home treatment to combat the signs of aging and skin discoloration. The treatment utilizes a blend of exfoliants, retinol, and multi-action agents to help improve skin health and treat many signs of aging.
ZO Controlled Depth Peel
At Saffron Laser Aesthetics & Medical Spa, chemical peels offer another highly effective method to exfoliate the skin and foster the growth of fresh, new, healthy cells. ZO® Skin Health is renowned for quality and efficacy; its peels are no exception. The ZO® Controlled Depth Peel™ was developed by Dr. Zein Obagi, creator of the original Obagi Blue Peel®, to stimulate the dermal and epidermal layers, maximizing collagen production—damaged skin peels away to reveal a smoother texture and more even tone.
HOW DOES THE ZO® CONTROLLED DEPTH PEEL™ WORK?
The ZO Controlled Depth Peel is Saffron's deepest Peel. It resurfaces damaged skin by causing superficial cells to peel away, resulting in a tighter, smoother, more even complexion. This Peel's trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) allows our highly skilled providers to tailor the treatment to a patient's concerns, as it is explicitly buffered to skin type.
Patients frequently undergo filler and neuromodulator injections a few weeks before or after a peel. Combined treatments provide the best outcome, restoring the youth's firm, precise, bright skin characteristics.
WHAT CONDITIONS DOES THIS PEEL TREAT?
The ZO Controlled Depth Peel addresses a variety of skincare issues, including:
- Pigmentation, such as brown spots and uneven skin tone
- Melasma
- Rough skin texture
- Skin laxity
- Fine lines and wrinkles
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Our providers recommend prepping the skin four to six weeks before treatment to achieve ideal results and ensure the skin's safety. Adherence to the proper skincare regimen before the procedure can enhance effectiveness and protect the skin from unintended damage. An office visit must also review pre- and post-treatment instructions to prepare for this Peel.
Light in-office sedation requires a driver to and from the procedure but effectively manages discomfort. A moderate burning sensation persists for about 10 minutes, then fades into the feeling of a tolerable sunburn. A Zimmer machine gently blows cool air on the skin to alleviate burning or stinging.
Plan for one week of downtime. Redness lasts for the week and fades to a pink that can remain for a few additional weeks. Peeling occurs one to two weeks after the procedure. We suggest that patients avoid exercise, excessive sweating, and sun exposure for one to two weeks following the ZO Controlled Depth Peel.
